SOPA Explained

SOPA or the Stop Online Piracy Act??? WHAT IS THAT??? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????

SOPA is something to do with the law. If it goes into effect, that means we will have to buy all the movies, music and entertainment that we ever watch or listen to.... no more torrent downloads, free movies and music....

The studios and people creating these kind of media will be rich once again.

No more free downloads. No more free YouTube. Bye bye free entertainment. Hello big, fat and rich entertainers.

Good to creators. Bad for the consumers.

Billions of dollars worth of music and movies are being downloaded every day and the creators don't get a cent.

So if SOPA is on, that means... they will get back their billions of dollars
IF people want their entertainment...
or not...

We like our free YouTube videos. Our free movie downloads from ThePirateBay.com or the free album from William Hung. Would we buy... errr... never mind...

So now... if let's say this goes into effect, a lot of traffic on the Internet will totally disappear. Tons of bandwidth suddenly... poof... disappear... Google revenue will PLUNGE... lots of poor people will never be able to enjoy free movies and music any more. Not to say how the kids in college will suffer from mal-entertainment.

All the big Internet companies are saying that SOPA should be stopped. And I bet a billion people out there will support this act from coming into being.

Let's just say it comes into effect...

What will happen then???

* Dorm LANs  filled with music and movies will rule once again*
*Pirated DVDs will be selling like before. This will herald the coming of the golden age of gangsters.*
*People will flock to the cinema to watch movies. Once they've been starved of movies for a few months, they'd grab the chance of buying a ticket any time! Like how a kid is starved of food for a few days.*
*Parents will be happy their kids are doing their homework once again*

And

I'll be happy I subscribed to Spotify and rely on the cinema to watch movies.

Guess I'll be happy even if SOPA comes into effect.
